AI development is accelerating — with some scientists suggesting machines will be more intelligent than the smartest humans within the next few years.

Back in the dot-com boom era, stock splits became commonplace in response to soaring share prices. Amid the current artificial intelligence (AI) boom, a similar pattern could be developing. Already, several AI companies have split their shares, and more splits could be on the way among the others that are trading at lofty prices.

Investors can own a slice of top artificial intelligence companies like Tesla, Nvidia, and Alphabet with this Ark Invest exchange-traded fund.

When Palantir released its second-quarter results last month, the company reported a year-over-year increase of 27% in revenue to $678 million. That was a solid improvement over the 13% year-over-year growth the company delivered in the same period last year, as well as an acceleration over its Q1 revenue growth of 21%.
