Nintendo has revealed some of the bonuses you can get for pre-ordering a Donkey Kong Country Returns HD including a pen barrel and a Kong pin set.

A Super Nintendo World Direct on Monday offered fans their long-awaited first look at the new Donkey Kong Country-themed expansion while announcing it will officially open December 11, 2024 in Japan.

To get to the new area, attendees go through a tunnel seemingly made with rocks, that leads to a jungle-themed locale. There’s a towering tree house, a golden temple spewing steam, and lots of banana-flavored deserts.

If the player pauses the Donkey Kong Country 2 and inputs Right+Y, Left+A, Up+B, and Down+X, they can exit any stage and boot back to the overworld map. This works even if you have not completed the area yet. This is why the code is a big deal: Normally, you can exit a level by pausing and pressing Select, but only if you have beaten it already.

Nintendo has announced that Donkey Kong Country of Super Nintendo World at Universal Studios Japan is getting its very own direct tomorrow, November 11, at 2pm PT/5pm ET. Nintendo shared the news on Twitter/X, saying, "Tune in on 11/11 at 2 p.m. PT for a Super Nintendo World Direct livestream!"
